It’s always been a huge deal to me when something major happens to my hometown – and the Winnipeg Jets joining the cheap nhl jerseys was an incredibly huge moment! When they announced that the Jets were beckoning to join the NHL, it felt truly special. There was celebration after celebration after the news broke and everyone was talking about it. Getting a brand new team in the league and seeing our boys making history with this was a beautiful moment.
It was 1979 when the National Hockey League officially announced the new addition. This means that for over 40 years now, the Winnipeg Jets have been flying high in the cheap nhl jerseys. Right when I heard this news, I couldn’t help but remember the time when we used to cheer for the Jets in the old Winnipeg Arena.
Some of us felt more ecstatic than ever before. I was so enthralled that I went by the Arena to buy a ticket to the first ever NHL game of the Jets. It was the team’s debut in the league and it certainly made plenty of proud Winnipeggers reminisce.
My family and I planted ourselves in our seats with enthusiasm and joy. Although it had been around 7 years since the last time the Jets were playing in that arena, it felt like a homecoming. We were ready to witness hockey history in the making.
When the team made its grand entrance to the cheers of the crowd, I felt like I was in a fantasy. Seeing something you rooted for since childhood get into the NHL is a remarkable occurrence. That’s why when the puck dropped in the opening faceoff, I was more alive than ever.
The Jets won their first game of the night and the watching the celebrations after that game was truly priceless. The fans erupted in cheers and it felt like we were all participating in some sort of national holiday! I was absolutely elated and you could tell that we had all been waiting for this moment.
Everyone around us was ecstatic and the buzz in the crowd was unreal. That night of November,1979 will always live in my heart as the night my hometown hockey team took the rink by storm! Cheers to the Winnipeg Jets – on to the next victory!

It feels like it was just yesterday when the Winnipeg Jets first took to the ice in the NHL. But time was different then – no Twitter, no Instagram, no YouTube. We lived and breathed every moment of the Jets on the ice.
On game night, the bellowing of the crowd was a part of something bigger. We had a tangible spirit, a collective energy that held us in awe. The roar of the crowd seemed to fill the entire arena as we watched the Jets soar together. And we still experience those same feelings today, four decades later.
